Arriving 9 minutes after the time of dispatch with a crew of 5, Engine 31-1 went interior to investigate a odor of smoke. Firefighters used thermal imaging cameras to search for the source of odor and came back with negative results.

Engine 44-5 arrived next and prepared to supply water to Engine 31-1 if needed, while manpower joined the manpower pool. Additional units from Sadsburyville and Wagontown proceeded in and held their crews.
