Auto Fire in Newlinville

On March 16th, 2017 around 1630 the Westwood Fire Company was dispatched to Doe Run Road in Newlinville for an auto fire.

Upon arrival of Deputy Chief Scott one vehicle was found involved in flames, coming from the engine compartment. Rescue 44, Engine 44-5 and Ambulance 44-1 were all on the street responding.

Rescue 44 arrived first due and stretched a cross lay to extinguish the fire. Engine 44-5 arrived as the water supply and crews deployed the Hurst spreader to gain access to the hood and trunk of the car.

The fire was under control within five minutes of the first suppression piece arriving. Westwood Fire Police had the road shut down for the duration of the incident.
