Relocate to East Brandywine After Tanker Task Force Alert
Email Print RSS Facebook Twitter RSS

By Assistant Fire Chief Adam Grossman
March 30, 2017

During the afternoon of March 30th, the Westwood Fire Company was dispatched as part of the first alarm tanker task force to assist at a working dwelling fire in East Brandywine Township. Initially Station 49 and mutual aid were dispatched to Dilworth Road for a reported structure fire as calls to 911 were indicating the roof to be on fire.

The first alarm tanker task force included 5 tankers and an additional engine company to assist. Fortunately the fire was coming quickly under control and a large amount of water was not needed. Crews from Westwood and responding Engine 44-5 were then re-directed to stand by at the East Brandywine Fire Company to answer any additional calls for service while they operated at this fire.

Also standing by was an Engine from the West Bradford Fire Company. Fortunately no additional alarms were put out and the stand by companies cleared within about 2 hours of being dispatched.

Units: Engine 44-5

Mutual Aid: Engine 39-1
