On May 20th, 2017 at 1912, the Westwood Fire Company was dispatched to the 200 block of Washington Avenue in Valley Township for a non emergency residential lockout. Assistant Chief Grossman arrived at 1917 with the Valley Township Police Department and Firefighter Waldrop. Through the use of tools on scene, firefighters were able to gain entry through a back door. All units redirected to the Route 30 Bypass for the second call of a tractor trailer accident.

At 1921 the Westwood and Sadsburyville Fire Companies were dispatched to a second call for a tractor trailer accident on the Route 30 Bypass at mile marker 270.1 in Valley Township.

Units arrived within minutes and found a tractor trailer that was in the middle of the median on. The accident was only a single tractor trailer versus the guardrail and caused damaged to the guard rail for about 200'.

Fortunately there were no injuries and no needed hazard control. Westwood Fire Police remained on location for quite some time until Fling's Towing could remove the tractor trailer from the roadway.
