It's not uncommon for fire companies to take advantage of fire prevention week to educate our nation's youth on fire safety, with this year not being any different. This week being National Fire Prevention Week, the promotional message is "Every second counts, plan 2 ways out.

The Wagontown Fire Company traditionally spreads the message to the children at Kings Highway Elementary. The Westwood Ambulance stationed at Wagontown also provided assistance for the yearly detail.

Wagontown Chief Ziegler led the activities by showing different equipment that a firefighter carries in a fire and what a firefighter looks like, had they ever had to come to the rescue. Followed by an inside assembly, the children proceeded outside where they saw the Wagontown Fire Apparatus and Westwood Ambulance 144.

Westwood EMS is proud to team with our local fire companies to provide education to today's youth.
