On April 22nd, 2018 the Westwood Fire Company was dispatched to the Route 30 Bypass westbound and west of Route 82 were an automobile fire.

Battalion 44 arrived within minutes and confirmed a truck fully involved with flames and established the Bypass Command. He also requested fire police to shut down the westbound lanes at Route 82 due to the road being impassable.

Engine 44-5 arrived and stretched the front bumper line to extinguish the fire. Firefighters made quick work of the situation and had it under control within minutes of being on location. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
