Serious Accident on Blackhorse Hill Road

On Saturday December 29th, 2018 at 0306 the Westwood Fire Company and Medic 93 were dispatched to the 800 block of Black Horse Hill Road in Valley Township for an auto accident with entrapment. Subsequently, Medic 93 was already on location as they came across the accident in their travels and was providing immediate treatment to the multiple patients.

The accident was a two vehicle head on collision on an incline in front of the Saint Cecilia Cemetary. Initial reports indicated one subject was trapped in their vehicle because they were unable to open the door. Initial responders on scene were able to free the door to gain access to the patient.

Rescue 44, Ambulance 44-1 and Deputy 44 all responded. Additional Ambulances were dispatched to the scene from the Washington Hose Company of Coatesville for multiple patients and a second medic unit also responded to the scene for the severity of injuries. A total of three patients were transported from the scene to a local trauma center for further evaluation.

Westwood Fire Police Officers were on location to shut down the road between Kendig Road and Cedar Street. Valley Township Police Department was on location to document and investigate the accident and Fling's Towing removed the vehicles from the road and cleared it of debris.
