The company was dispatched to the unit block of Juniata Drive in the Fallowfield Farms section of East Fallowfield Township Monday for a fire type unknown. The caller reported a cloud of white smoke coming from the rear of a residence on the residential street. A big thunderstorm had just moved through the area prior to this report.

The Westwood Fire Company responded with the Deputy Chief, Engine 44-5, Ambulance 44-1 and Command 44. Deputy Chief Scott arrived to find a tree on fire with what appeared to be from a lightning strike. Engine 44-5 arrived first due and stretched a 300' line to extinguish the fire. All hands worked on the scene for about 30 minutes before being returned to station.
