Building Fire at the Airport Shopping Center |

On Wednesday August 21st, 2019 at 1957 hours the Westwood Fire Company was dispatched to the 100 block of Airport Road in Valley Township for a building fire. Engine 44-5, Rescue 44, Ambulance 44-1 and Chief 44 all made the response minutes after dispatch. After the dispatch, Ladder 8 was added to the assignment. In addition the Sadsburyville and Wagontown Fire Companies were also responding. Engine 44-5 and Rescue 44 took position on side A and began to investigate the reports of flames and smoke in a business. Additional apparatus arrived and staged in the front and rear of the strip mall. Chief McWilliams assumed the Airport Road Command and Deputy Chief Scott had operations. Firefighters discovered a malfunctioning air conditioning unit and no services were required. All units cleared the scene at 2052 hours. |
