Auto Fire on Glencrest Road

The Westwood Fire Company was dispatched at 0658 hours Friday for an auto fire in the 200 block of Glencrest Road In Valley Township. Rescue 44 and Engine 44-5 made an immediate response, already on the street coming back from an auto accident on the Route 30 Bypass. The caller reported a vehicle on fire on Glencrest Road near Northview Drive.

Engine 44-5 arrived on location and reported a working auto fire in the intersection of Glencrest Road and Northview Drive. Engine 44-5 positioned to block the road and utilize the front bumper line for suppression efforts. Rescue 44 took position behind Engine 44-5, nosed in to use the front hydraulic rescue tool line to open the hood. Together the crews deployed a hose line, extinguished the fire and forced entry into the car engine and passenger compartment for overhaul.

There were no occupants around the vehicle at the time of the fire. The Valley Township Police Department was on location to investigate the incident. Anybody with information about the fire is asked to contact Valley Township PD. Fling's Towing was on site to tow the vehicle from the roadway.
