When the Westwood Fire Company was called to help with a smoke alarm installation, we answered the call. On Friday we received a call to the station for helping an elderly man install a smoke alarm in his house in the Quiet Village section of Valley Township. Without hesitation our staff immediately went out and gave a hand.

The importance of smoke alarms may be overlooked by some, but the reality is only working smoke alarms save lives. The number one cause of fire fatalities in private homes is smoke alarms not installed or not maintained.

Please remember to change your batteries every 6 months, check your alarm every month and replace them every 10 years. If you ever have a question please call us at (610) 383-0538 or info@westwoodfire.com.
