On Thursday, April 12th, 2012 our official license was received from the Pennsylvania Department of Health which allowed us to place our new ambulance into service.

Our newest addition to the fleet is a 2012 Ford E-450 Braun Chief XL Type III Basic Life Support unit. This vehicle was purchased due to the expansion of our ambulance service coverage area to now include West Caln Township, West Brandywine Township, and portions of Wallace and East Brandywine Townships. Westwood Ambulance continues to service Valley Township and a portion of East Fallowfield Township.

This is the first gasoline ambulance owned by the Fire Company due to Ford Motor Company not currently producing diesel E-series chassis.

Our 2003 Ford Braun Ambulance will be permanently redesignated as "Ambulance 44-2" and reserved as a back up unit, while our 2009 Ford Braun Ambulance will be designated as "Ambulance 144" operating out of the Wagontown station.

The total coverage area for Westwood EMS now expands to 51 square miles and more than 28,800 residents.
