On Monday, October 28th, Westwood personnel participated in Hoseline Advancement training along with Modena Fire Co. (Station 37). The training was led by Todd "Chip" Bryant at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Coatesville.

The training started with a tour of the VA Fire Department (Station 76) firehouse and and procedures to follow for a standby. Firefighter Bryant went over procedures for using a Fire Department Connection (FDC) and standpipe operations. The personnel from both stations learned the benefits of using a high rise bag for both extending a line and fighting fire in a multiple story building. At the end of the night, both companies went through different scenarios of stretching lines, truck company operations, and Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) operations.

We would like to send a special thank you to Station 76, for allowing us to tour and use their facility. Also we would like to thank Station 37 for inviting us to this very informative training.
