By President John Sly
March 20, 2014

On Thursday, March 20th, 2014 the Westwood Ambulance service, along with our colleagues at the Wagontown and East Brandywine Fire Companies, received praise and recognition by the West Brandywine Township Board of Supervisors at the monthly Township meeting.

Supervisors Chairman William Webb opened the meeting and the first order of business announced to the crowd was the public recognition and appreciation for the outstanding service provided by the East Brandywine Fire Company and Wagontown Fire Company's volunteers, and the staff of the Westwood Ambulance service. All three provide service to West Brandywine Township.

Plaques recognizing each agency were presented to East Brandywine Chief Edwards, Wagontown Chief Ziegler, and President Sly on behalf of the residents of the Township.

Chairman Webb was joined by Vice-Chairman Doug Smith and Supervisor Josef Obernier with comments praising the actions of all of the emergency service providers; noting the amount of "above and beyond" service performed during the recent winter storms.

Representatives from each agency were on hand to provide monthly reports to the residents and each thanked the Board and the residents on hand for their continued support, noting that this "thank you" will go a long way showing appreciation to the dedicated crews.

We would like to thank the Board of Supervisors of West Brandywine for the recognition, and thank the residents who continue to provide financial contributions to help sustain our services.
