Pedestrian Struck in the Parking Lot

On Tuesday, June 10th, 2014 the Westwood Fire and EMS units along with Medic 93 were dispatched at 1548 to the parking lot of the Bottom Dollar store in the 100 block of Airport Road for a pedestrian struck by an automobile.

Ambulance 44-1, Rescue 44, Chief McWilliams Assistant Chief Scott and Battalion Chief Sly all responded at 1550. Traffic 44 followed just a minute later.

Battalion 44 arrived on the scene just one minute later at 1551 and discovered multiple vehicles involved and a patient suffering from back pain was found laying on the ground.

Ambulance 44-1 arrived on the scene and personnel began assessing and treating the patient for injuries.

Reportedly, a vehicle had accidentally backed into another vehicle striking the victim who was loading groceries. A third automobile had also been involved when it was pushed out of a parking lot during the force of the previous collision.

No other injuries were reported.

Ambulance 44-1 and Medic 93-3 transported the patient to Brandywine Hospital for evaluation.

All units cleared the scene at 1629.
