Sunday Afternoon Car Fire

On Sunday, June 22nd, 2014 the Fire Company was dispatched at 1126 to the Westbound lanes of the Route 30 Bypass at Mile Marker 272 in Valley Township for a reported car fire.

Engine 44-5 and Ambulance 44-2 responded; as Ambulance 44-1 was already responding to a medical emergency in Valley Township.

Battalion Chief Sly arrived on the scene at 1137 and confirmed an auto blaze with fire in the engine compartment.

Engine 44-5 arrived just two minutes later and began suppression efforts, led by Assistant Chief Scott.

The fire was quickly extinguished and was officially placed under control at 1144.

Units remained on the scene to assist with traffic control while Fling's Towing removed the car.

All units cleared the scene at 1229.
