Accident With Entrapment In East Fallowfield

On Tuesday, September 2nd, 2014, Rescue 44 was dispatched at 2023 to assist the Modena Fire Company on Strasburg Road in the area of Doe Run Church Road in East Fallowfield Township for an auto accident with entrapment.

Rescue 44, Traffic 44, Modena Engine 37-3, and Medic 91-1 all responded within 4 minutes of dispatch at 2027 and were advised by the Chester County 911 Center that a vehicle had rolled onto its side with the occupant still trapped inside. Modena Ambulance 37-1 arrived to confirmed the report and began patient care.

Modena Chief Dowlin arrived shortly after and established "Strasburg Road Command;" advising Engine 37-3 to stabilize the vehicle and prepare for Rescue 44's arrival. Rescue 44 arrived at 2033 and firefighters from Westwood and Modena quickly worked together to extricate the patient.

The patient was extricated at 2046 and was transported by Modena Ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.

Westwood units cleared the scene at 2100.
