Sixth Annual Fire Company Family Appreciation Day

On Sunday, September 14th, 2014 our Active Crews and their families were once again invited to enjoy a day away from the firehouse to spend at Knoebels Amusement Park in Elysburg, Pennsylvania.

The morning began with everyone loading up on a Krapf's Coaches bus at the firehouse at 0900 to begin the two and a half hour drive to Knoebels in Elysburg.

Knoebels Amusement Resort is America's Largest Free Admission Park which is home to some of the world's finest wooden roller coasters, classic amusement rides, park food, and fun for the entire family.

Our firefighters and EMS personnel and their family members were each given ride tickets and free reign of the park for the entire day with a catered lunch in the afternoon courtesy of the Fire Company.

This year, we were joined by our colleagues at the Wagontown Fire Company who were invited to attend with our group. We have gained a "family" relationship with Wagontown; with our Ambulance Division operating out of the Wagontown fire station since 2011.

Each year, our emergency responders' families are often the ones forgotten when our Firefighters, EMS personnel, Fire Police Officers, and Administrative personnel dedicate countless hours to the Fire Company and the Community. Whether it means sacrificing a meal at home or time with the kids, our personnel always give any spare time they can. This is just a small way of not only thanking our personnel, but their families as well.

The staff and crew of Knoebels Amusement Resort was extremely courteous as always and well accommodating to our needs.

After spending a fun day at the park, our bus left Knoebels to return to Coatesville by 1830.
