On Thursday, September 18th, 2014 the Westwood Fire Company was requested to assist the Honey Brook Fire Company on a massive search with ATV44.

Rescuers from multiple agencies searched the area around Struble Lake in Honey Brook Township for a 65 year old male. Apparently, the gentleman had been in the area dove hunting when he contacted family stating he was experiencing a medical emergency and the phone cut out.

Assistant Chief Scott responded with the ATV and assisted with transporting responders and other search personnel through out the evening between the command post and the search areas.

Nearly 100 first responders participated in the two day search which covered 380 acres. The search concluded when a body was located in the area of the missing person.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family on this unfortunate incident.
