On Thursday, January 15th, 2015 Pennsylvania State Fire Commissioner Ed Mann released grant awards for the FY2014-2015 state grant cycle. More than 2,475 organizations were funded by the $30 million program this year.

The Fire/Rescue division was fortunate to be 1 of only 5 fire companies in the state to be awarded a total of $15,000; the maximum amount available to a single fire company by law.

The EMS division received $7,444.80, also tied for the maximum funding for a single EMS organization. The base award for Fire grants this year was $11,514.58; however due to our training levels, we received an additional $3,485.42.

Both of these grant award funds will be combined and utilized to offset the purchase of a new Incident Command vehicle for our EMS operations.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Commissioner Mann and the staff at the State Fire Commissioner's Office for their support in maintaining this important grant program which helps to purchase vital safety equipment.
