On Monday, February 2nd, 2015 the Westwood Fire Company along with automatic assistance from the Sadsburyville Fire Company, an Engine from the Wagontown Fire Company, and a Tanker from the East Brandywine Fire Company were dispatched at 1616 to the unit block of Irish Lane in the Rock Run section of Valley Township for reports of a house on fire.

Battalion Chief Sly responded one minute after dispatch at 1617 and received reports that the resident was reporting that a boiler was on fire in the basement of the home.

Fire Police Lieutenant Pilotti arrived on the scene at 1620 and confirmed the initial reports. Battalion 44 also arrived at the same time and established "Irish Lane Command."

Sadsburyville Engine 31-1 arrived on the scene at 1625 followed shortly thereafter by Engine 44-5 at 1627. Crews quickly went to work to contain the fire to the boiler utilizing a fire extinguisher.

A moderate amount of smoke was also present in the home; firefighters also worked to clear the smoke condition from inside the residence. Due to the quick response of personnel, units from Wagontown and East Brandywine were not needed at the scene and were subsequently canceled.

One occupant of the home was transported to Brandywine Hospital by Ambulance 44-1 for evaluation.

All units cleared the scene at 1649.
