On Saturday November 21st 2015 at 1148 hours the Westwood Fire Company was dispatched as part of a house fire assignment to the 200 block of Elmwood Lane in Caln Township. Engine 44-5 responded a short time later with a crew of 5 firefighters and was the fourth arriving engine company.

Wagontown Deputy Chief Reber had arrived just prior to the apparatus and gave the report of smoke showing from the garage that was attached to the house. Members of Engine 35 assisted Engine 76 in putting a 2 1/2 line in service when they arrived. The crew advanced the line into the house and then re-positioned the line to the garage after making a quick hit in the kitchen area. Westwood and Lionville firefighters ventilated the second floor of the structure and checked for extension.

Thorndale Lieutenant Taylor arrived and assumed Command while Deputy Chief Reber held the Operations Section. As additional companies arrived they were placed in the manpower pool and assigned to various tasks as needed on the fire ground. The fire was quickly bought under control with the cooperative effort of multiple fire companies on scene.
