On Thursday, January 14th, 2016, members of the Westwood Fire Company met in the company's bingo hall for their monthly meeting.

The January meeting welcomed the newly elected and re-elected officers for the year 2016. President Sly began the meeting at 1900 and stated that once again, he had invited Life Member and Magistrate District Judge Grover E. Koon from District Court 15-1-05 to swear in all officers.

We would like to express our thanks to Judge Koon for taking the time to help us make this meeting special and for joining us for the remainder of the meeting.

The meeting followed with reports from the finance, bingo, and fundraising committees, engineer reports, fire and the ambulance reports.

Westwood closed out 2015 with 312 fire calls and 1,173 ambulance calls for Ambulance 44. Ambulance 144, housed at Wagontown Fire Company, closed out the year almost equally with 1,156 ambulance calls.

We thank both our volunteers and our paid staff for keeping up the task of getting the apparatus out in emergencies and for all of their continued hard work and dedication to the company. We have many goals for the upcoming year and we look forward to a safe and successful 2016.
