House Fire on Birdell Road in West Caln

At 0225 on July 3rd, 2016 the Westwood Fire Company was dispatched as part of the working fire dispatch for the 1400 block of Birdell Road in West Caln Township. Initial calls to 911 indicated a porch was on fire, fire department personnel arrived to find a working fire and requested additional resources.

Engine 44-5 with a crew of 3 arrived and provided its 3,000 gallons of water to the scene. Manpower fell into the manpower pool and assisted with fire suppression, salvage and overhaul. Additionally after delivering the water, Engine 44-5 went to the nearby full site, refilled and shuttled additional water into the scene with neighboring tankers.

Westwood EMS was on location providing rehab for the fireground. This incident was a Wagontown Fire Company local and they were assisted by firefighters from Honey Brook, East Brandywine, Glen Moore, White Horse, Coatesville, Coatesville VA, Twin Valley and Westwood.
