Just after midnight the house fire assignment was dispatched for the 900 block of Charles Street in Valley Township. Apparatus from Westwood, Sadsburyville and Cochranville immediately hit the street. Firefighters were advised by the communications center of smoke filling a residence from an unknown source.

Arriving minutes later, Engine 44-5 found no smoke or fire from the outside and began investigating. Once inside firefighters found a haze and odor of smoke. Chief McWilliams established the Charles Street Command and Deputy Chief Scott was operations.

Using thermal imaging cameras, Firefighters searched for a cause of the smoke condition. Investigations found no fire but possible an electrical situation that had breakered itself. After checking the basement, main floor and attic with no fire the situation was placed under control and began to get scaled back.
