Multi-Vehicle Accident Closes the Westbound Bypass

During the morning hours, the company was dispatched to an auto accident on the Westbound Route 30 Bypass East of Route 82 in Valley Township. Calls to 911 indicated a four vehicle accident and possibly one victim to be checked for injuries.

Rescue 44, Ambulance 44-1 and Ambulance 144 all made the response to the accident scene.

Arriving within minutes Deputy Chief Scott confirmed the report and established Bypass Command. At this time Fire Police from the Thorndale Fire Company were requested to close the Westbound Bypass at Reeceville Road.

After triage of all the victims was complete, one patient was packaged for transport to a local hospital for further evaluation. Ambulance 44-1 transported the patient and Ambulance 144 remained available to cover all of Westwood EMS's district.

The fire apparatus was cleared and command was terminated leaving the scene to the Fire Police, State Police and Tow Truck Companies.
