Remote Area Motorcycle Accident in Valley Township

On Saturday September 24th, 2016 at 1312 the Westwood Fire Company and Medic 93 were dispatched to the 200 block of Waverly Boulevard in Valley Township for an auto accident reported serious. Chief McWilliams marked enroute immediately and received a report of a motorcycle accident in the woods about 200-300 yards off of the cart road. Based on the reports an additional engine company, ATV and EMS unit were dispatched to assist.

Arriving at 1322 Ambulance 44-1 proceeded to the accident scene and confirmed two patients that needed extricated from the wooded area.

ATV 44 and Engine 31-1 arrived next and transported additional medical equipment and personnel into the woods.

Westwood Chief McWilliams established the Waverly Boulevard Command.

After several minutes the patients were packaged and transported out of the remote location by ATV 44 and 35 with the EMS personnel performing patient care. Both ambulances transported one patient each to a local hospital for further evaluation.
