On November 16th, 2016 at 1548 hours the Westwood Fire Company was dispatched to the unit block of Timacula Road in East Fallowfield Township for a lawn mower fire. The caller advised a lawn mower was on fire approximately 30 feet from a barn and 60 feet from a house.

Assistant Chief Grossman arrived at 1553 hours and confirmed the report. Due to a long narrow driveway, all units were held on the street except Tac 44. Tac 44 arrived at 1555 and went in service with a 1" trash line to extinguish the fire. Fortunately prior to our arrival the mower owner knocked the fire down with portable fire extinguishers which most likely prevented the fire from spreading to all of the leaves in the adjacent area.

The fire was placed under control at 1556 and the assignment was scaled back to Tac 44.
