Smoke in the Dwelling on Moody Street

The Sadsburyville Fire Company was dispatched to assist the Westwood Fire Company in the unit block of Moody Street, Valley Township, Sunday for a reported house fire. The call came in around 0731 and the Wagontown Fire Company was also dispatched.

Westwood Chief McWilliams arrived on location and assumed Command, Chief Grossman was investigating, reporting a smoke condition in the basement.

Engine 31-1 (Lieutenant Pascoe) and a crew of 5 arrived simultaneously with Engine 44-5. Firefighters set up mechanical ventilation in the basement after the situation was controlled. It was determined a pump was overheated and the electric was secured.

Companies were together on scene for 25 minutes before being returned. Engine 31-2 and Rescue 35 were recalled.
