Accident With Entrapment in East Fallowfield

On Monday October 30, 2017 the Modena Fire Company was dispatched at 2333 to a reported auto accident in front of 2135 Strasburg Road in East Fallowfield Township.

Modena Chiefs arrived and established Strasburg Command. After an assessment they found one patient still inside the vehicle unresponsive. Strasburg command then upgraded the call to entrapment adding Medic 93 and Rescue 44.

Engine 37-1’s crew went in service cutting the driver side doors and roof from the vehicle, extrication was complete at 0006, Rescue 44 then arrived and its crew assisted Modena crews with carrying the patient up and out of the mud.

The vehicle involved traveled off the road and went airborne 15 yards down an embankment coming to rest in a creek bed, crews were working in thick mud and water during the rescue. The patienr was transported to a local trauma center, Rescue 44 was released shortly after.
