On Wednesday at 1028 hours the Westwood Fire Company and mutual aid were dispatched to the 700 block of W. Kings Highway in West Caln Township for a reported barn fire. This location is a Wagontown Fire Company local.

Shortly after dispatch numerous units responded and advised of a working fire. FM-28 Peters was the first to arrive reporting such. Ladder 41-1 arrived first due truck and Battalion Chief Lentz took command with the ladder stretching a 2 1/2" line to start knocking the fire. Engine 35 arrived and laid a 5" up the long driveway with Engine 33-5 picking up the lay. Wagontown Fire Chief Ziegler arrived and assumed the command position as crews worked to contain the fire.

Crews began with heavy water lines and a blitz-fire to knock down the bulk of the fire, with Battalion Chief Sly handling the water supply. Additional units and tankers that were dispatched arrived and sent crews up to the scene to assist with suppression. Once the fire was knocked down, operations began with handlines to mop up the fire and allow for the Fire Marshal's to investigate the incident.

Westwood EMS was on scene to provide rehab for the firefighters. All units were clear by 1500 hours.
