Auto Fire on the Westbound Bypass |

On Friday October 4th, 2019 at 2007 hours the Westwood Fire Company was dispatched to the westbound Route 30 Bypass east of Airport Road in Valley Township for an auto fire. Rescue 44, Engine 44-5, Ambulance 44-1 and Traffic 44 all responded to the call for service. Arriving within minutes Rescue 44 reported a vehicle well involved with flames. Crews immediately advanced a hose line and began extinguishing the fire. Sergeant Kennedy had the Bypass Command. Engine 44-5 arrived second due with the water supply and additional manpower. Firefighters worked diligently to bring the fire under control. All units cleared the scene within 30 minutes of arrival. Fire police were also requested from the Sadsburyville Fire Company. The westbound lanes were shut down for the duration of the incident. |
