Today, the Westwood Fire Company formally announced the transition of it’s Wagontown Ambulance Division to include Advanced Life Support (ALS) services. This addition of Advanced Life Support will provide several of the Townships serviced by the Westwood Fire Company Ambulance Wagontown Division with an invaluable emergency medical service asset located inside these communities it serves.

After several years of planning and implementation, the Westwood Fire Company Ambulance Wagontown Division has completed all licensure requirements for ALS ambulances as dictated by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services. This includes the staffing of both a Paramedic and an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) on each ambulance unit, designated as a Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU).

Two (2) Advanced Life Support MICUs have been placed into service as of the time of this release. These units will provide ALS services to our community around the clock, every day of the year.

Improved Emergency Medical Service to Western Chester County with the addition of MICU 144 & MICU 244, Westwood Fire Company Ambulance Wagontown Division will be providing Western Chester County with much needed relief to the Advanced Life Support system currently in place. The addition of these two ALS ambulances will provide faster and more comprehensive care to the citizens of West Caln, Wallace, and West Brandywine Townships. We also continue to provide Basic Life Support services to areas of East Brandywine Township. It is and always has been the goal of the Westwood Fire Company to provide an unmatched level of emergency medical care to any patient that we encounter, and the addition of these services will help ensure that this goal is met.

One unit is housed and located at the Wagontown Fire Company; 412 W.
