Gas Leak on Falon Lane

On Monday May 4th, 2020 the Westwood Fire Company was dispatched to the 200 block of Falon Lane in East Fallowfield Township for a gas leak outside. The call came in at 1424 hours and the incident was located in East Fallowfield Township across street of Weston Drive. The caller reported hearing a hissing noise coming from a structure and a smell of natural gas in the area.

Engine 44-5, Ambulance 44-1, Chief 44 and Battalion 44 all made the response. Upon arrival it was confirmed there was an active gas leak from a gas pipe on a new construction site. Peco was notified to respond to the scene to control the release of natural gas. Firefighters evacuated the area and prepared for fire attack in the event a spark would ignite the leak.

All units cleared the scene at 1523 hours, after the situation was under control by Peco. If you ever smell gas, please call Peco at (800) 841-4141. If it is an apparent leak or in a residence, please dial 911.
