Passing of Life Member Mabel D. McCoy

On Saturday, June 6th, 2020 Mrs. Mabel McCoy passed away at the age of 93. Mrs. McCoy was a 40-year member of the Fire Company, serving many years on our Ladies Auxiliary.

Mrs. McCoy was the wife of Life Member Harold McCoy who passed away in 2008. Both Mr. & Mrs. McCoy could be found at the firehouse every Tuesday and Saturday night helping to support our Bingo games and working in our kitchen.

Mrs. McCoy's family history in the Fire Company runs very deep. She was the sister of long-time Past President Joseph Sweigart, who lead the Company from 1979-1994, followed by his nephew William Sweigart. Her brother Donald Sweigart was also a Trustee of the Fire Company for many years.

As recently as earlier this year before the COVID-19 shutdown, Mrs. McCoy was still a frequent participant at Bingo -- something she enjoyed tremendously.

Mrs. McCoy is survived by many family members who carry on the family legacy by helping out at our Bingo games.

Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 situation, we were unable to express our sympathy in the traditional manner we provide to our long-time supporters of the Fire Company.

Our thoughts are with the Sweigart and McCoy families during this difficult time.
