Auto Fire on the Westbound Route 30 Bypass

On Tuesday April 27th, 2021 at 1149 hours, the Westwood Fire Company was dispatched to the westbound Route 30 Bypass in Valley Township for an automobile on fire. Within 2 minutes of being dispatched, a PA State Police Trooper was on scene confirming a working car fire. Engine 44-5 and MICU 44-1 were both responding.

Arriving within minutes Battalion Chief Sly confirmed an automobile well involved with flames just east of Airport Road. Engine 44-5 arrived next and deployed the front bumper line to extinguish the fire. Traffic 44 was on location directing traffic around the scene.

As of 1600 hours today, this was the 5th fire and EMS call our units made for the day.
