House Fire in Doe Run Farms

On Tuesday April 27th, 2021 at 1658 hours, the Westwood Fire Company was dispatched to the 100 block of Clearfield Lane in the Doe Run Farms lll section of East Fallowfield Township for a house fire assisting the Modena Fire Company. Automatic aid from Coatesville and Keystone Valley were also on the assignment.

Deputy Chief Scott arrived first reporting a 2 story SFD with smoke showing from division 2 side alpha and requested a working fire dispatch. This requested re-alerted the first alarm companies of a working fire, and added additional resources from Cochranville and East Brandywine, fire marshals and utility companies to all respond.

Chief Dowlin arrived and assumed the Clearfield Lane Command. Coatesvilleā€™s Engine and Ladder were first due and stretched a hose line to the front door.

Westwood, Modena and Coatesville firefighters worked together to access the fire and extinguish it and conducted a primary and secondary search of the residence. Crews then opened up the room checking for extension into the walls and ceilings. After the situation was under control firefighters began ventilating the structure.

Engine 44-5 was set up as the main water source for the incident bringing 3,000 gallons to the scene supplying Engine 43-1.
