On Monday January 31st, 2022 at 0927 hours, the Westwood, Sadsburyville and Wagontown Fire Companies were dispatched to the 1000 block of Mifflin Street in Valley Township for a house fire. Engine 44-5, MICU 44-1 and MICU 144 all made an immediate response at the time of dispatch.

Arriving at 0933, firefighters found a 1 story rancher with smoke showing. Firefighters from Engine 31-2 split, conducting a primary search and advancing a hose line to the fire area. Once inside firefighters located a fire in the kitchen area and knocked down and conducted primary searches.

Engine 44-5 arrived 0935 and supplied Engine 31-2 with water. Engine 35 arrived next and assumed the IRIC and performed ventilation once the fire was under control.

The Chester County Fire Marshal’s Office was on scene to investigate the cause of fire. The fire was placed under control at 0944 with all hands working.
