The Westwood Fire Company was alerted for an auto fire in the 800 block of Fox Chase Road, just off of Airport Road, on Thursday. The caller reported a truck on fire to the rear of a business. Engine 44-5 made an immediate response to the call.

Assistant Chief Grossman arrived first due reporting a truck well involved with exposure concern to a building. Engine 44-5 accessed the blaze from a rear entrance off of Airport Road.

When on scene, Engine 44-5 led off with a 200’ attack line to extinguish the blaze. Firefighters quickly went in service and protected the exposure building. The truck was opened up to extinguish all flames and the fire was under control within 5 minutes of arriving on location.

Firefighters racked line back on the engine then cleared the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The Westwood Fire/Rescue Division responded to an additional two calls this day for service.
