Historic Year for Westwood EMS

Since its inception in 2000, the Westwood Fire Company EMS Division has hit record numbers. On November 16th, 2000 when we placed our first BLS ambulance in service, we only responded to around 600 incidents in the first year. Little did we know, one day we are slated to be the largest EMS organization by volume and area served in Chester County.

In 2022, we expanded our services to take on the departure of Tower Health who traditionally provided ALS services to Western Chester County from Brandywine Hospital. Tower Health seized this operation and on September 1st, 2022, Westwood EMS began to carry this load into new territories that we previously did not cover. We placed in service Medic 344-1 that is stationed at the Sadsburyville Fire Company to cover portions of Western Chester County and Eastern Lancaster County.

By the completion of 2022, our strong work force responded to 5,349 calls for service with our ALS and BLS units. This is a record year for the Westwood Fire Company EMS Division. Our staff is the best around, highly professional and dedicated to the community.

A sincere thank you to the officials of the municipalities we serve, who through their support, make our organization feasible and growing.
