On Wednesday April 19th, 2023 at 04:43, the Westwood Fire Company was dispatched to the 400 block of Doe Run Road in East Fallowfield Township for a tractor trailer on fire. The caller reported a tractor trailer well involved with flames and a burn victim was at the scene.

Deputy Chief Scott arrived first due at 04:49, confirming the report and began to move other tractor trailers away from the one that was involved in flames. Engine 44-5 arrived and firefighters deployed an attack hose line to extinguish the fire. Westwood Paramedics were on scene to administer care to the burn victim.

An additional engine was requested to the scene, summoning resources from the Modena Fire Company. This was due to needing hydraulic rescue tools to gain access to the tractor of the rig to ensure all of the flames were extinguished.

The fire was under control at 05:27 with all hands working. The Chester County Fire Marshal's Office was notified to investigate the cause of the fire due to having a burn victim. It is recommended that if you are sleeping in any space such as a house, tractor trailer or automobile, to equip it with smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. This act could save your life!
