Working House Fire with Burn Victims

The Westwood Fire Company and mutual aid responded to the 200 block of Wilmington Road in East Fallowfield Township for a residential structure fire. The fire was reported today at 10:10.

Medic 44-1 and Assistant 44 arrived together to find a 1.5 story home with smoke showing. EMS crews immediately began treating multiple burn victims as a result of the fire. Additional EMS were called to the scene and included MICU 144, MICU 244 and Medic 344.

Engine 44-5 arrived first due at 10:19 and firefighters conducted a primary search of the house. The fire was located on the second floor and was quickly knocked down.

Additional units from Modena, Keystone Valley, Sadsburyville and Cochranville were also on scene and performed task with ventilation, secondary search, and salvage and overhaul. Longwood Rescue 25 was special called on the assignment as a RIT and a working fire dispatch was alerted for the utility company response and the Chester County Fire Marshal.
