On Friday January 26th, 2024 at 17:25 the Westwood Fire Company and mutual aid were dispatched to the unit block Newlinville Road in East Fallowfield Township for a house fire.

Engine 44-5 made an immediate response at the time of dispatch and arrived as the first due engine company. Firefighters reported a working fire from division 2 of a duplex and went in service with a hose line.

Firefighters entered the structure and conducted a primary search to ensure all occupants were evacuated. A fire was then knocked down and ventilation began. Firefighters opened up the walls and ceiling of the fire area to check for extension.

Deputy 44 held the Newlinville Command and Assistant 37 had operations. The fire was quickly under control with all hands working. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
