Reported Structure Fire on Madison Street, Valley Township

On Saturday March 9th, 2024 at 16:24, the Westwood Fire Company and mutual aid were dispatched to the 900 block of Madison Street in Valley Township for a structure fire. The caller reported a house filling with smoke from an unknown source.

Engine 43-1 and Engine 44-5 arrived two find a two story end of the row with nothing showing. Crews from both pieces teamed together as the first due engine assignment and stretched a line to the front door. Firefighters found a smoke condition on division 1 and worked diligently to locate the source.

Within minutes the source was located and the fire was extinguished. The house was opened up and positive pressure ventilation was placed in service. The assignment was scaled back to to Westwood and Coatesville. Battalion Chief Sly held the Madison Street Command.
