| At 10:25 PM, the Westwood Fire Company was dispatched to the westbound Route 30 Bypass, east of Airport Road in Valley Township, for a reported auto accident with possible entrapment.
The incident was initially dispatched to Station 35 and Ambulance 144 for a location in West Caln Township, but updated information from Chester County 9‑1‑1 placed the crash within the Westwood Fire local in Valley Township.
Ambulance 144 arrived to find a two‑vehicle accident and began assessing the occupants for injuries. Rescue 44 and Squad 35 positioned apparatus to block the scene from oncoming highway traffic, ensuring a safe work area for responders.
After evaluation, the patient declined transport to the hospital, allowing Medic 344‑1 to be recalled. Firefighters cleared debris from the roadway and applied stay dry to leaking fluids.
Traffic 35 remained on scene to assist with traffic control until tow trucks arrived to clear the vehicles. Units were released by Deputy 44 and cleared without further incident. |
