Westwood EMS Personnel Honored for Life‑Saving Actions in Valley Township

January 20, 2026

Westwood Fire Company EMS personnel were recognized tonight for their extraordinary actions during a recent medical emergency in Valley Township. What began as a routine transport quickly turned critical when the patient became unconscious and lost their pulse while en route to the hospital.

The crew immediately shifted into full resuscitation mode. Our paramedics initiated advanced life‑saving interventions, delivered critical medications, and worked relentlessly to restore the patient’s heartbeat. Their training, teamwork, and rapid decision‑making brought a life back from the brink.

Tonight, that same patient stood before our responders—alive—at the Valley Township Municipal Building to personally thank them. EMT Emily McCormick, Advanced EMT Kristina Warner, and Paramedic Jason Cole were formally recognized for their life‑saving efforts and presented with an award honoring their actions.

Moments like this remind us exactly why we do what we do. The training, the equipment, the staffing, the stations, and the municipalities we serve all exist for one purpose: to save lives. In this case, that mission was fulfilled.

The Westwood Fire Company extends sincere gratitude to all the municipalities we serve through our BLS and ALS services. Your support directly contributes to outcomes like this—real people going home to their families because of the system we’ve built together.
