| Just prior to midnight, the Westwood and Sadsburyville Fire Companies were dispatched to the 200 block of Waverly Boulevard in Valley Township for a reported vehicle fire. Within minutes, Rescue 31 and Engine 44‑5 were on the street, along with Deputy 44 and Assistant 44.
Rescue 31 arrived to find a vehicle fully involved in flames and immediately stretched the front bumper hoseline to knock down the fire. Assistant 44 arrived and established Waverly Boulevard Command.
Firefighters from both companies worked quickly to contain the blaze, bringing the fire under control with all hands operating. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. |
