| The Westwood Fire Company responded to a residential structure fire in the 300 block of Martingale Circle in East Fallowfield Township after being dispatched to assist the Modena Fire Company, the first‑due department. The incident occurred on Thursday around 10:00PM prompting a multi‑agency response that included several mutual‑aid fire companies.
Upon arrival, crews encountered a working fire in the attached garage of a single‑family home. Firefighters deployed multiple hose lines to the garage and interior of the residence to contain and extinguish the fire. Simultaneously, truck company personnel conducted a primary search of the home and began checking for fire extension into living areas.
The fire was quickly brought under control through coordinated suppression efforts. Horizontal ventilation was initiated to remove heat and smoke, followed by positive pressure ventilation once the fire was declared under control.
Firefighters remained on scene to assist the Fire Marshal with the investigation and later completed final salvage and overhaul operations to ensure all remaining hot spots were extinguished.
Engine 44‑5 provided the water supply and personnel support throughout the incident. Medic 44‑1 stood by to monitor for any civilian or firefighter injuries with no ALS injuries reported but Modena EMS did transport one civilian for smoke inhalation. |
