On Friday, February 9th, 2007 Engine 44-5 was dispatched at 1125 as part of a 1st Alarm Tanker Task Force assisting the Thorndale Fire Company in the 300 block of Loomis Avenue for a house on fire.

Crews from the Thorndale Fire Company, the Coatesville VA Fire Department, the City of Coatesville Fire Department, and the East Brandywine Fire Company were initially dispatched at 1115 to the scene.

Engine 44-5 responded with 5 firefighters and was directed to supply water to the scene along with Tankers from the West Bradford Fire Company, Lionville Fire Company, Cochranville Fire Company, and Glen Moore Fire Company. Assistant Chief Taylor was assigned as the water supply officer by Chief Aberts of the Thorndale Fire Company. The Tanker Task Force was requested due to the lack of fire hydrants in the area to supply water to the scene.

When the Thorndale Fire Company arrived on scene, they found a heavy volume of fire visible from all sides of the residence. Our crews operated on the scene assisting with fire attack and overhaul operations.

Engine 44-5 cleared the scene at 1314.

Thanks to the Union Fire Company of Oxford for standing by at our station with one Engine during this incident.
