On Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008 Rescue 44 was dispatched at 1521 along with the Atglen Fire Company to assist the Parkesburg Fire Company to force entry at a medical emergency in the 300 block of Strasburg Avenue in Parkesburg Borough.

A victim had fallen and was unable to get to the locked door to allow EMS personnel to access the home.

Rescue 44 responded two minutes after dispatch to the scene. Parkesburg Ambulance 28-2 was already on scene upon Rescue 44's arrival. Rescue 44 was asked to assist with forcing entry to the home. The crew of Rescue 44 utilized a hydra-ram to force the door open. A hydra-ram is a manually pumped hydraulic tool which firefighters use inside a door jam.

Entry was quickly gained and Parkesburg EMS personnel tended to the patient inside the home.

Rescue 44 cleared the call at 1531.
